New Head Office for Gazprom Orenburg
The foundation stone of the new office building designed by Evata was set on 10 November in a ceremony held on the building site in Orenburg, Russia. The new building will serve the largest Russian gas producer Gazprom’s Orenburg branch and it will be taken into use in spring of 2008 when the company is celebrating the 40th anniversary of it production start in the biggest gasfield in Europe.
The building has 16 floors and its floor area is 25 000 sq.m. The main load bearing structure is steel. The project will be delivered by Harris Group International from St.Petersburg, Russia. HGI won the contract with a proposal where Evata acts as main architect and head of the Finnish design team. Other Finnish consultants are KPM Engineering (structural) and Granlund (mechanical and electric). The contractors come from Orenburg and St. Petersburg.
After the ceremonies in discussions with project leaders the General Director of Gazprom Orenburg, Mr. Ivanov expressed his ideas and those of Mr. Alexey Miller, General Director of Gazprom, about the importance of the new building for the city of Orenburg and Gazprom as well as about its architecture. He expressed his best wishes for the design team lead by Evata’s Vesa Peltonen and for the landmark project.
Evata’s office team is presently designing several other office projects in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg).
