Evata engaged in the development of Gotland Ring motor park

Gotland Ring motor park and Evata have agreed on partnership to develop the motor park area. The cooperation concerns a master plan for the racing track situated in Sweden, on the island of Gotland.

On the north of Gotland you find, quite surprisingly, the newest race track in Europe. The track has already made the island a popular region for product launches for the international automobile industry. Gotland Ring is also famous for its unique track profile, which has been ranked by the well known racer drivers and motor experts as one of the best in the world.

The motor park is under continuous development. A new entry road is being built by end of June. Furthermore, conference facilities, a cafeteria and even several garages have been planned to be built.

Many large international events take place at Gotland Ring this year. A German automobile manufacturer makes over 700 journalists fly in for the world-launch of a new car model. Another launch which takes place at Gotland Ring is a new concept car—an environmental car from Japan which runs by gas of hydrogen and results in exhausts of water steam.

“The motor park obtains a large lift through these launches and ensures the development of the track, the park and it’s infrastructure”, says the founder of Gotland Ring, Alec Arho Havrén.

“Gotland Ring is a unique project, offering a state-of-the-art racing track, based on sustainable development principles. The development of the whole of the project constituent parts will definitely become a destination of importance both regionally and internationally. Evata is very happy to be associated as a partner with Gotland”, says Francois Duchastel, CEO Evata International.

“The cooperation with Evata gives us visions”, says Arho Havrén. “We have large investments ahead of us during the next couple of years. First of all Sydslingan, but also a motor sport center, larger conference facilities, a Design Hotel & Spa, a theme park, a tennis court and golf club are included on the agenda.”

“About competitions on the race track, we are counting to get an approval after the track inspection in autumn, just in time for the competition season 2008, from FIA (Federation Internationale de l´Automobile), which is the leading institution within the motor sport.
We are heading an exciting development phase, and are very enthusiastic about the future”, concludes Alec Arho Havrén.

THREE TRACKS IN ONE

In its final format, Gotland Ring will be able to offer three different race track profiles. Nordslingan (the North loop), 3,2 km long, is open for company events (Racing Experience, Safety Driving, Eco Driving and other edutainment events), product launches, test activities as well as for public driving. Sydslingan (the Southloop), ca. 4.2 km long, will be ready during 2008 and constitutes to Gotland Ring becomes the longest track with modern standards in the world.
The third loop has a Grand Prix-profile and will be 7.375 m long. The height difference will be 25 m, the width of the track will vary between 12-25m and the track consists of thirteen right- and left curves.

In addition to the three loops a so called dragstrip will be created on the Southloop for test activity and drag racing competitions.

THE NEAREST TRACK IN STOCKHOLM

Gotland Ring is the nearest track in Stockholm. By ferry from Nynäshamn one can reach Gotland in three hours. The same applies to the route Oskarshamn-Visby. The flight route Stockholm-Visby is the most trafficked in Sweden from Arlanda. One can also fly directly to Visby from Bromma, Helsinki, Oslo, Hamburg, Helsingborg, Ronneby, Gothenburg, Sundsvall etc.

Gotland Ring is situated in Storugns next to Kappelshamn and Lärbro, about 40km north of Visby.
